Two of the best and most popular tennis players in the world, Casper Ruud and Holger Rune will face each other in an epic tennis battle to decide who’s the best player in the Nordics, the real Viking. Both players have already created a fabulous career for themselves at the age of just 25 and 21. They have played each other on several occasions in tough fights and both players have delivered outstanding performances. To this day Ruud has the upper hand leading the head-to-head.

The first battle takes place in Varner Arena in Asker on the 30th of November 2024 and the second and decisive match will take place in Royal Arena in Copenhagen on the 3rd of December 2024. If it’s a draw after the two matches a champions tiebreak will decide the winner of Nordic Battle 2024.

Holger recently played in Denmark and loved the atmosphere and as he is always up for a challenge, he asked to be challenged, which Ruud was quick to reply to. Both players are very excited for the Nordic Battle 2024, the match they really don’t want to lose:

“Thank you for the challenge, Holger. I’m really looking forward to playing you in front of the amazing fans in Norway again, and then in return coming to visit you a few days later in Copenhagen in the ‘return’! It’s time to show our noisy neighbours yet again who is the superior nation in sports”, says Casper Ruud.

“I’m happy Casper grabbed the challenge, and I can’t wait to play in front of the Danish fans in Copenhagen. Also, I hope to get some Danish support in Oslo, so we can show them who the real Vikings are.”, replies Holger Rune.

Scandsports, who is organising the match in Norway is very enthusiastic about once again being able to present world-class tennis live to the Norwegian fans:

Casper plays a massive part in the growing interest of tennis in Norway and has a huge fan base himself. Bringing him back to Norwegian soil to face one of his biggest rivals will drive the fans wild. It is a match no one will want to miss”, says Managing Partner of Scandsports, Bjorn Takle Friis.

The organiser in Denmark f Sports Group is very excited to finally be able to announce this battle, Founder Mads H. Frederiksen says:

“It’s no secret that the relationship between Casper and Holger have been tense throughout the years and that they now want to battle each other is massive for the sport of tennis in both Norway and Denmark. It really is a battle they don’t wanna lose.
